VISA-FREE travel campaign “Go Europe, Go Belarus!” started to recruit volunteers in 2011. 60 applications were chosen out of 300. After two trainings in Minsk and Hrodna active and creative youth from all over the country joined the Campaign.
A lot of events which made the Campaign more public were organized with the help of volunteers. Among these events are festivals, concerts, discussions and film-showings. The map of visa-free events covered Minsk, Brest, Hrodna, Mahiliow, Maladzyechna, Polatsk and Navapolatsk.
At the moment 50 volunteers are working hard to achieve their great aim – get rid of visas for Belarusians.

To be a volunteer is a great chance for self-actualization through helping this campaign. I entirely support the aims and ideas of “Go Europe! Go Belarus!” It’s a pleasure to realize that I make my small contribution to the campaign and make the achievement of the main aim – abolition of visas – closer. I organize different events such as concerts, including the ones held in private flats to draw more attention to visa problems. At the same time I spresd information about our campaign and try to recruit more people. The most important thing is to believe in what you do. In this case you’ll succeed!

First of all, I am interested in volunteer work as in a phenomenon. Besides, the aims of this campaign are close to my world-view and I would like to make my contribution to the process of visas abolition.
I joined the campaign as a volunteer last year. This year I coordinate the recruitment of new volunteers. I participated in organizing mobility festival “Samakhod”, was helping with translations and represented our campaign at the conference of Visa Free Europe Coalition in Warsaw.

Besides the fact that I’m interested in visa problems, I met a lot of interesting people among the volunteers with whom I like both working and spending spare time.
I helped the campaign by participating in signature-gathering activity. We’ve also sent postcards with best wishes to the consulates of various countries.

When I first learned about the campaign I thought: cool! There are so many various barriers and troubles in the world. And visas are among them! It’s inhumane!
The aims of the campaign were close to me and my ideas. So I decided to apply. At the first training meeting I was surprised by the fact that all people were very different in age, interests and occupation. Now we are a team and we all know what we are fighting for. It’s pleasant to understand that you are a part of “Go Europe, Go Belarus!”
The team of volunteers enlarged in December 2012. Training meetings for the second volunteer recruitment were organized on the 9th and 15th of December.
