More than 17,000 hockey fans have taken advantage of the visa-free regime and arrived in Belarus for the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Belta reports.
«The most active are residents of Latvia. About 7,000 people have already crossed the border,” said Alexander Tishchenko. The leaders in terms of the number of fans are also Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Germany and Finland.
As was reported, starting from 25 April the 2014 World Championship guests can travel to Belarus on a valid passport and a ticket to a match or an electronic copy of the ticket. This right can be exercised only once. Multiple-entry ticket is not allowed.
How to get to Belarus without visa during Ice Hockey championship
For the official participants listing in the IIHF Championship accreditation system will become a basis for a visa-free entry in the territory of Belarus.
Original or electronic ticket to the match will become such a basis for a visa-free entry of tourists.
Please be aware that in case of transit traffic through the territory of the Russian Federation to the games of the Championship in Belarus, foreign tourists need to have visa of the Russian Federation.
